Babes Golf Experiences

Amanda’s Golf Experience

During the pandemic, Amanda started golfing two and a half years ago when she felt bored and isolated. Her family was into golf, so she felt comfortable going to the driving range with just two clubs, a putter, and a seven iron. She eventually moved to Arizona and grew her golf bag little by little. Amanda discovered Babes Golf on Instagram and attended their Scottsdale launch event, which was the best thing she ever did. She has since become an active member, attending events and making new friends.

Sally’s Golf Experience

After trying out her driver and playing with her dad, Sally fell in love with golf. She started exploring different courses in North Phoenix and eventually discovered Babes Golf when they opened their Arizona chapter. She felt an immediate connection with the community, as they welcomed her and made her feel comfortable. Babes Golf changed her life, and she wanted to join it by starting her own chapter. The community provides a welcoming environment for women to make friends and have hobbies beyond just drinking at the bar.

What’s in Your Golf Bag?

Tori kicked off a fun game with the ladies called "What's in Your Bag?" In this game, they shared some of the most unique and sentimental items in their golf bags.

Sally's Bag:

Sally has her custom-made Callaway "Jaws" sand wedge, which was gifted to her by some golfers from the course she used to work at. The wedge has her nickname, "Sweet Sally," on it.

Alex's Bag:

Alex shows off her special edition TaylorMade golf ball with a firecracker design and her club head cover that says "Bomb," which was a birthday gift from her friend. She also has sentimental golf balls from friends in her bag. Her wedges were handed down to her from her dad and included a Mac Daddy wedge.

Amanda's Bag:

Amanda shares her favorite item, a magnetic towel from Birdie Supply with Babes Golf embroidered. The company is one of their partners and also makes golf balls. She loves how easy it is to replace the towel and that they send it as a renewal gift to their members.

Must-Haves in a Golf Bag

  1. Golf is a sport that requires not just skill but also the right gear. As a beginner, it can be overwhelming to decide what to include in your golf bag:
  2. A Club Cleaning Tool: Keeping your clubs clean is essential for their longevity and the quality of your shots. A club cleaning tool is a small attachment that you can carry in your bag to quickly and efficiently clean your clubs after every shot.
  3. A Towel: A towel is a bare essential for any golfer. You can use it to clean your clubs, wipe your hands, or even dry off on a hot day. Keep your towel damp so it's ready to use when you need it.
  4. A Brush: A brush is a handy tool in your bag, especially if you're playing on a course with a lot of sand or grass. Use it to clean debris off your shoes or the bottom of your club before hitting a shot.
  5. A Speaker: If you enjoy listening to music while you play, investing in a portable speaker is a great idea. It can help you relax and get into the zone, improving your game.
  6. Gloves: As a beginner, having a few gloves in your bag is a good idea. Golf gloves provide better grip and control over your club and protect your hands from blisters. Make sure to change out your gloves regularly to avoid using a worn-out and ineffective one.
