Today’s Topics:

1.      Playing Golf on a Budget

Golf can be expensive, especially in Arizona. However, there are ways to play on a budget. One tip is to buy used clubs. For example, Golf Mart in San Diego and Second Swing in Arizona offer affordable beginner sets. Another tip is to practice putting for free on a putting green. Drills and videos are available online to improve your game from home. It's easy to get caught up in buying the latest and greatest technology, but when starting, you don't need a full set of 14 clubs or fancy equipment.

2.      Finding a Place to Practice Consistently on a Budget

Finding a place to practice consistently on a budget can be challenging. A good tip is to ask a local pro shop if they have any monthly or yearly specials. Some courses offer unlimited golf balls for a certain monthly fee. Additionally, many indoor golf simulators are opening up, which can be a cheaper option than playing a round of golf at a course. You can also check rates at TopTracer, as they may be lower than other options.

3.      Finding Private Lessons for Golf

Finding a private golf lesson can be a great way to improve your game, but it can also be a bit overwhelming to find the right coach for you. One tip is to look for someone you connect with and feel comfortable asking questions. It's not necessary to find a coach who has taught all the PGA pros; someone you relate to and feel comfortable with is more important. Prices for private lessons vary greatly, so it's a good idea to ask around and compare rates to find the best deal.

Natalie offers a unique approach to golf coaching. She believes that the first lesson should be completely free so the student can get to know her teaching style and ensure they connect with her before committing to further lessons. This allows the student to make sure they feel comfortable and confident in their learning experience without the pressure of paying a large sum upfront. Her goal is to grow the game and not just take people's money.

4.      Golf Rounds

In Arizona, playing golf can be expensive, especially during peak season (November to May). Locals can get a residence card or city passes for discounts at local courses to find more affordable greens fees. In San Diego, residents can get a resident card for access to Torrey Pines at a discounted rate. It's also a good idea to ask pro shops in your area about discounts or passes that may be available.

5.      Buying Golf Clothes on a Budget

To find affordable golf clothes, look for more budget-friendly brands and ask if there's a dress code. Many golf courses allow you to express your style and don't require wearing a collared shirt! Some people in your group may, also, know of good deals on places like Amazon.

6.      Golf Opportunities for Women Who Work Full-time

The Babes Golf events are often held at night to accommodate people who work 9-5 jobs or have a busy schedule. Golf outings are usually on the weekends to make it more accessible for people. Natalie, also, offers early morning lessons. She finds ways to accommodate golfers' schedules by finding driving ranges open early or late enough for practice.

Being a mom and playing golf can be a great combination. Many golf clubs offer nine-hole leagues for working moms in the morning or late afternoon, allowing for flexible schedules and childcare options. Be sure to check for these options at golf clubs you belong to or plan to join in the future.

7.      How to Deal with the Dudes

Dealing with men in the golf world can be intimidating for women. The key is to know your golf game and be aware of the pace of play to avoid misunderstandings. If you're looking to join a club or league, it's important to ask current women members about their experiences with the men at the club to see if it's a comfortable atmosphere. Knowing what to expect and being prepared can help you navigate any situation that may come up.

8.      Favorite LPGA and PGA Players

Tori and Alex are fans of LPGA and PGA players, with Nelly being their favorite. Tori enjoyed watching Lydia Ko and was a huge fan of Suzann Pettersen. Alex's favorite in PGA is Tiger Woods, while Tori's favorite is Bryson D Shambo. Natalie does not keep up with PGA and LPGA Tour players but enjoys watching golf and attending tournaments. Alex also likes Charlie and Phil, while Rory is also a favorite.

9.      BIGGEST Tip for Someone Going to the Phoenix Open for the First Time:

The biggest tip for someone going to the Phoenix Open for the first time is to wear comfortable shoes and come prepared for the heat and sun. For a more traditional golf tournament experience, visit on Thursday or Sunday. Also, be aware that Sunday is the same day as the Super Bowl, and the atmosphere can be less lively. Also, be prepared for a lot of walking, especially getting in and out of the tournament.
