Tori wants to give a shoutout to Golf Closet, a brand-new venture with Alix, focused on talking about golf clothes and outfits. The first episode is ready on Tori's YouTube Channel. They love finding new brands and ways to mix and match outfits on the golf course. The golf apparel industry is constantly evolving, and they enjoy the treasure hunt of discovering new styles.

Now, she’s invited Bailey Chamblee to the podcast to discuss settling for your golf style or apparel. Bailey is wearing a golf brand today, Fore All, created by Michelle Money, which she loves and is perfect for running errands. Bailey’s Golf Highlights

1. Hole in One

Bailey had her first ever hole-in-one on March 24th, 2023, with an eight iron at Arizona Country Club. It was a 120-yard shot. Tori and Alix just so happened to be playing behind her when she hit it. They all screamed for five minutes straight in excitement! She has been playing golf for over 20 years and finally got her first one! During the same round, she also had an eagle on a par five, despite facing 30-mile-an-hour winds.

2. The Final Round

During the ACC member-member tournament, Bailey didn't check the leaderboard during her last round until around hole 16 or 17. She didn't want to put too much pressure on herself and just wanted to focus on playing well. She thought they needed to play better to be in contention, but after looking, she realized they were actually in it if they finished strong. Despite some bogeys and a par on the 18th hole, they were able to finish solidly. The closing holes were challenging, longer, and more difficult. It wasn't a spectacular finish, but they were able to hold on and stay in the mix.

Bailey’s Golf Style

Bailey's golf style is all about being feminine with an edgy twist. She loves wearing golf dresses with high tops or boots to add that unexpected flair. Bailey doesn't want to look like an athlete on the golf course but instead wants to appear like she could leave and go on a day date with her husband. She enjoys finding new ways to style her golf outfits and mixing and matching different brands. Bailey discovers new golf brands through a mix of people reaching out to her, recommendations from others, and attending the PGA Show in Orlando every January. She has noticed that more and more non-specific golf brands are showcasing their products at the show, which can be styled as golf clothing.

How the Golf Apparel is Influenced Nowadays

When it comes to golf apparel, there seems to be a disconnect between what female professional golfers wear and what is popular in the market. While male golfers still seem to influence the fashion choices of male amateur and recreational golfers, the same cannot be said for women. As a result, female golfers often look to their fellow golfers for inspiration and rely on basic, simple clothing that can protect them from the elements.

One factor that seems to heavily influence golf apparel for women is sun protection. Professional women golfers who are out on the course all day are exposed to the sun's harmful rays, which can have serious health consequences. Sun sleeves and other protective clothing are popular choices among female golfers. While fashion is still important, it takes a back seat to practical considerations such as staying healthy and comfortable during long rounds of golf.

Welcome to Golf Closet!

Alix and Tori have started a new venture called Golf Closet. They are filming YouTube episodes where they discuss different types of golf outfits. The first episode is about summer must-haves and features 16 different outfits. The episodes will be released twice a month, with the next episode focused on golf skirts set to drop in the third week of May.

Alix’s ALI Store

Alix opened ALI, a women's boutique focused on golf, tennis, swim, and resort wear, about a year ago in Scottsdale, AZ. All of Alix's stores have had huge success, with eight locations, including two ALI Stores. Alix spends 80% of her time buying for the ALI stores, compared to her other stores. She admits that she loves it and has provided a spark to keep her going after 20 years in retail. The idea for ALI started as a pop-up experiment in one of her existing stores. She eventually got the first location for the ALI Store. Alix has found a new sense of camaraderie in the industry, which she had not experienced before, where she partners and promotes brands. It has given her renewed energy as picking out the same things season after season can be exhausting.
