10 Things to Know About Walking 18 Holes

1. You can either carry your bag or use a push cart.

2. Push carts range from $250-$550 to buy but some courses might have some that you can use for free or rent.

3. It is an incredible low-impact workout.

4. If the weather is really hot or it’s later in the day, I might just walk 9 holes and ride the remaining 9 in a cart.

5. Give your body and golf game some patience when you first start off walking. It MIGHT affect your golf game but don’t let that deter you. We have all had plenty of crappy rounds riding too!

6. I have “walking shoes” and “riding shoes” when it comes to my golf shoes.

7. Just because you are walking, does not mean that you are slow!! All levels can walk and keep pace of play. You just have to learn a couple shortcuts to keep up pace of play.

8. Some golf courses are not walkable. Be sure to call the ProShop ahead of time to see if it’s a “walking course.”

9. Walking keeps your big muscles activated throughout your golf round.

10. Walking helps keep your focus on your own game and get a better view of the green as you are approaching.
