Q&A with Tori

Q: What's your most embarrassing moment in golf?

A: I've had plenty of embarrassing moments, especially with many last-place appearances this year. It's hard to pinpoint one, but one of the most embarrassing things is having it on Instagram. I'm trying to share my journey, even when uncomfortable and nervous. Years ago, I had the shanks during a tournament, which snowballed for the rest of the round. As for redeeming myself in the Southwest AM, I would have shown up again if it didn't overlap with the state MidAm, which I chose instead.

Q: Will you try to redeem yourself in this year's Southwest AM?

A: I was going to move forward with it. Unfortunately, it overlaps with the state MidAm. So, I will choose the state MidAm over the Southwestern, but I would have shown up again if it didn't overlap.

Q: What's the weirdest thing a player has done at a tournament, on or off the course?

A: It's safe to say we've seen some pretty strange behavior from players on and off the course. Whether it's a partner event or an individual, we've all had moments where we're not performing at our best and become frustrated and angry. Some of us may even shut down and stop talking. As for off the course, there have been some memorable oddities, but I'll leave it to your imagination to come up with those!

Q: What is your greatest golf accomplishment?

A: My biggest golf accomplishment was qualifying for the U.S. GA MidAm championship. I didn't even know what the championship was about, but I played well and had the best golf experience of my life.

Q: If you could play with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

A: I would love to play golf with Peyton and Eli Manning. They come to mind first because I'm a big fan of theirs. My grandfather, who was very competitive, also comes to mind, but he never played golf, so maybe he could just be my cart driver for the day.

Q: He's a nine, but he's always late?

A: I don't think I could handle that. I like to push the limit and show up right on time or maybe a minute early.

Q: What is your warm-up routine?

A: I tried committing to showing up an hour early and having a good warm-up routine for tournament rounds, but it just didn't work for me. I prefer not to warm up too much and get antsy to start playing.

Q: He's an eight, but he wears a visor?

      A: No, that's a no.

Q: What is your favorite color?

      A: Blue, for sure.

Q: What did you do before you started your golf company?

A: I have worked most of my jobs for my family. In high school, I worked at my dad's marina in Canada during weekends. After graduating, I got into real estate and worked with my mom's real estate group in Rochester. Later, I moved to Phoenix and worked for Alex, her company. I've worked for all family members, including Casey, for a small stint. Finally, I decided to start my own thing, which began with the six-week signature course, something that helped me become a better golfer and focus more on my practice sessions.

Q: What are some of the biggest challenges you faced in building your businesses?

A: My biggest challenges include social media, which can be a time suck and a rollercoaster of emotions. Dealing with negative comments and feedback can also be tough, but I continue to share my golf journey to bring joy to others. The expensive nature of the golf industry is another significant challenge, but I strive to provide amazing experiences while getting the best prices possible.

Q: He's a 10, but he uses iron covers?

      A: No.

Q: He's a five, but he's a scratch or a plus?

A: I find it attractive when someone is good at something, including golf. It's a hard sport, so seeing someone excel at it is impressive. Confidence in any sport or profession is attractive to me.

Q: How do you balance kids, husband, business, and golf?

A: Juggling is hard, but family comes first, and golf takes up much time.

Q: Who on tour gives you swing envy?

A: Nelly Korda's swing and tempo are inspiring, and Ernie Els has a graceful and effortless swing.

Q: What's your go-to snack on the golf course?

A: Half an egg salad sandwich and potato chips.

Q: What is the most used emoji on your phone?

A: The face with teeth grinding.

Q: What is the Left Dash, and what's your feeling about it?

A: Left Dash is a golf ball version that resembles the Prov1X, and I think it might be a favored version from past years.

Q: If you could only have one Sour Patch Kid flavor, which would you choose?

      A: Blue.

Q: Do you have any golf superstitions?

A: I play with a particular ball and pre-shot and putting routines. I like to walk up to the ball before putting a stroke for confidence.

Q: What is the pre-shot routine for golf shots and putting?

A: My pre-shot routine varies based on the shot type. I check the yardage, take practice swings, line up, and hit for full shots. For putting, I line up using the ball's line and take practice swings. I gain confidence by taking a final look at the putt while walking up to the ball.
