Lessons I Learned in Golf.... Part One
-
It’s ok to ask for help when you aren’t sure about a rule. Just ask BEFORE you take action!!
-
Keeping up pace of play and having a good attitude is all that matters.
-
Some women won’t be your cup of tea but I know for sure that A LOT of them will be! Don’t let one person sour your enthusiasm for the game.
-
If you are unsure about the dress code, call the ProShop ahead of time and ask. I have been called out 3 times that I can remember and have had to buy a shirt at the ProShop to comply .
-
Just because you had a good round today does not mean you will shoot the same score tomorrow. Golf is an endless score roller coaster.
-
Your handicap is your POTENTIAL, not what you are supposed to shoot every time.
-
Some rounds are more serious than others, and that’s ok! Those serious rounds will make you better competitive golfer. I was HORRIBLE the first year I consistently played tournaments. It takes time and experience to build up a tournament player BUT tournaments are the most fun so it’s worth it!
-
It’s hard to win a tournament without making putts. Practice your putting!!!
-
Record every score. You are only hurting yourself if you don’t. Don’t let your ego get in the way of your handicap.
-
Every time I’ve thought a slump would never end.... it did. Don’t give up.
